Workshops on
“ MSME PROSPERITY – OPPORTUNITIES AND VENDOR DEVELOPMENT ”
from the month of April 2016 onwards in Telangana State.

Dear Members,

The economic and social importance of the micro small and medium enterprise (MSME) sector is well recognized in academic and policy literature. They play a very important role in the economy in terms of balanced and sustainable growth, employment generation, development of entrepreneurial skills and contribution to export earnings. However despite their importance to the economy, most MSMEs are unable stand up to the challenges of globalization. It is recognized that this sector in the economy are underserved, especially in terms of finance.

The Hon’ble Chief Minister of Telangana unveiled the road map of the new industrial policy which incorporates the goals like raising the contribution of Manufacturing Sector to GSDP. This sector is the provider of essential products and services to the people and registered a higher growth rate than the rest of the industrial sector. The above said objectives can be achieved only by improving the access to finance of micro small and medium enterprises. It is crucial in fostering entrepreneurship, competition, innovation and technology adoption and growth of industrial sector especially MSME sector in India.

Keeping in view of the development of MSMEs in the State and encourage entrepreneurs, Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (TECC) in associated with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is planning a series of Workshops on “MSME PROSPERITY – OPPORTUNITIES & VENDOR DEVELOPMENT” from the month of April 2016 onwards in Teangana State .

The Workshops are planned at Warangal, Medak, Nizamabad, Karimnagar, Nalgonda and Hyderabad (Six districts). The first workshop will be held on April 29, 2016 at Hotel Green Park, Hyderabad

The Seminar will focus on the role of Banks and Financial Institutions for SME Growth, Credit Rating for SMEs, Introduction to Venture Capital and Private Equity Funds, Technology and other various Govt Incentives and schemes and Export Promotion.

Eminent Speakers from banks, MSME & Technology Development Institutes, District Industries Centres and other organizations working for the development of MSMEs, etc. will be addressing the participants.

There is no participation fee for attending the seminar. But prior registration is a must. This is only to keep necessary arrangements in place without any embarrassment at the eleventh hour. Please note that only registered Members are invited.

Round Table Conference on

"EASE OF DOING BUSINESS IN TELANGANA - A WAY FORWARD"

The Ease of Doing Business is a very current and recurring theme these days. The latest report by the World Bank positions India at 130th rank. The Central Government has been aggressively pushing initiatives in easing doing business by providing a clear path for economic freedom based deregulation.

The Department of Industrial Planning and Promotion (DIPP), Government of India, has taken the mandate to coordinate with the various state governments in facilitating reforms at the regional level. Various states have also joined the efforts of the Government in the true spirit of co-operative federalism for attracting investments, boost economic growth and generate employment opportunities for its citizens.

It is in this light that Centre for Public Policy Research will be conducting Round Table Conference in Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Hyderabad (Telangana) and Bhubaneswar (Orissa) which has spearheaded various initiatives on doing business.

CPPR has already been engaged with state Governments in Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala for improving Doing Business environment at the state level.

The Conference will have a panel discussion involving panellists from the Government, business community, academicians and chambers of commerce & industries. The panel discussion shall provide inputs on the Competitiveness of State in easing regulatory controls, adopting technology for transparency and achieving the Prime Ministers mandate of "Minimum Government and Maximum Governance".

The panel discussion will be a full day/ half day affair discussing on the Initiatives like Single Window Clearance, Entrepreneurship Policy, Make in India, etc. These shall be discussed and debated to identify how the states need to perform in improving its regulatory envir onment, reduce barriers and develop a favourable ecosystem for businesses.

The issues captured will be compiled in the form of a memorandum and submitted to the State Government for initiating correctives measures. CPPR has been closely working with various states in ease of doing business and aims at assisting the efforts of Central Government especially Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) in this regard. CPPR is also hosting the first South Indian Conclave on Ease of Doing Business on 11-12th March at Kochi, Kerala bringing key people from the states to brainstorm on ease of doing reforms. The Conferences will set the background for the Conclave which will deliberate and discuss on how to implement the reforms for Ease of Doing Business in the states.

The Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers’ Association is organizing ELECRAMA -2016 from 13th to 17th February 2016 at BIEC, Bengaluru.

IEEMA, is the apex association and national representative organization of manufacturers of electrical, industrial electronics and allied equipment in India. Founded in 1948, IEEMA has a pan India presence with its corporate office at New Delhi, registered office at Mumbai and regional offices at Kolkata and Bangalore. IEEMA has State Heads at Hyderabad, Lucknow, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Srinagar, Guwahati, Bhubaneswa & Raipur.

IEEMA is the first ISO certified industry association in India, with 800+ member organization encompassing the complete value chain in power generation, transmission and distribution equipment. As a representative of the electrical industry, IEEMA maintains dialogue with the government of India, its departments, electric utilities, users, standardization bodies, educational institutions, research, development and testing agencies. IEEMA is the natural voice of Indian electrical industry and plays a crucial policy advocacy role with the government and its agencies.

The MSME Development Institute is organizing the above program on 19th and 20th February 2016 at NSIC, Kamalanagar, Hyderabad for the benefit of MSMEs.

TECCI would like to thank and congratulate the MSME Development Institute, Government of India, for organizing this timely program which provides an opportunity for the MSMEs to create and improve the business tie-ups with the above organizations.

MR.VINOD DHAM, FATHER OF PENTIUM CHIP.

We are glad to inform all the CEOs that Mr.Vinod Dham, Father of Pentium Chip, Silicon Valley, USA, will be visiting Hyderabad on 26th January 2016.
